The interstellar shuttle is a Decepticon Micromaster base from the Generation 1 continuity family.
What is this... "Aerodynamics" you speak of?

Skystalker compensates for his physical weakness with sheer ruthlessness... and the power of his interstellar shuttle. This massive craft is heavily armed with lasers, missiles, bombs, and more. It carries a supersonic jet pod that can detach as a separate ship. Both vehicles combine on land to form a fearsome assault base.

With ramps, of course.

As two jets I can double my firepower! With the aid of my supersonic jet pod, I'll turn that Autobot base into molten metal. Prepare to meet your doom, Autobots. Jet pod, fire one!Skystalker

Fiction

Dreamwave comics

The interstellar shuttle ferried Skystalker, Skyhopper, and their unit across the galaxy to various worlds on their interstellar assault mission, including the planet Paradron. Destined for Nothing

Later, it carried them back to Cybertron after the conclusion of the mission. The Gray Race

After contacting their erstwhile Decepticon allies, Skystalker and Skyhopper used the shuttle as a base of operations as they plotted to overthrow Shockwave. Recipe for Hate

Commercial appearances

The interstellar shuttle was captured by Jazz and Bumblebee, who hauled it into an Autobot base. Skystalker promptly transformed the base and attacked. Sneaky! Micromaster Micro Base Commercial

Toys

Generation 1

"You're not getting a Porche because I will not have Interstellar jets on my grass!"
  • Skystalker (Micromaster Rocket Base, 1989)
    • Accessories: Skystalker Micromaster car/commander, jet pod, small lasers (2), large lasers (2), dual laser, ramps (2)
The interstellar shuttle was sold in a large boxed package, along with Skystalker. The shuttle transforms from a compact vessel with a detachable piggybacked ship, into a land base with towers and guns. Aside from becoming the recon tower, the jet pod (in vehicle mode) can dock with the white landing pad on the side of the base. Modular ramps allow it to connect to other Micromaster bases.
The main shuttle can often be found missing its right wing, as one of the wing's connectors is mismolded slightly and tends to break. This may have been corrected by the end of the run.
The toy was released without changes in Japan as the Thunder Arrow. It is unknown whether it retains the same mold error.
