Heavy Iron was made by Wheeljack and was designed for Ironhide to clear crowded areas of Decepticons. After Ironhide found Mixmaster, he was given a Heavy Iron 2.0, which was a more powerful version of the Heavy Iron that could fire small blasts of energy.
When Ironhide confronted Mixmaster for the second time, Mixmaster threw a car at Ironhide which he destroyed using the Heavy Iron.
