A dialogue script for an episode, as opposed to a regular script, contains only spoken dialogue. Further, it includes only that dialogue which was actually taped at the voice recording session. Scene descriptions, stage directions, etc., are omitted, as well as dialogue which was cut before being recorded. The dialogue scripts can still provide some interesting information, however: sometimes lines of dialogue were cut after being recorded and therefore never appeared in the final episode. Additionally, dialogue scripts can provide canonical spellings for character names that fans would otherwise have to guess at.

Dialogue scripts for the Generation 1 cartoon have been included in some of the UK DVD releases from Metrodome.
