Smoking is good for you, kids!
"Marlboor Wheeljack" is a fan nickname for the 1983 Diaclone retool of the G1 Wheeljack toy with a racing deco based on Marlboro cigarettes, though its stickers instead read 'Marlboor' for trademark reasons. The toy was never released as a Transformer, but a Decepticon based on the toy has appeared in several comics beginning in 2002.

Fiction

Dreamwave comics continuity

Marlboor Wheeljack frequently has to deal with attacks by anti-smoking activists.

Marlboor Wheeljack was one of many Decepticons in the Kaon gladiator arena to witness Megatron's execution of the corrupt Emirate Xeon, signaling the beginning of their uprising. He was standing right next to a jet-helicopter Decepticon. The War Within #2

Marlboor Wheeljack and the jet-helicopter Decepticon were in Iacon when Starscream's botched mechaforming attempt leveled the city. He and his pal were unprepared when Shockwave ordered troops to fall back to Kolkular rather than be destroyed. The War Within #6

Notes

  • Though unnamed and indeed nonspeaking in his fictional appearances, "Marlboor Wheeljack" is referred to as such here due to being a cameo appearance of a Diaclone variant of the toy that would become Wheeljack. The toy features a retooled head and a different color scheme with "Marlboor" endorsements.
  • His deco is specifically based on one of two Series 5 Stratos racing cars produced, the other being the car on which Wheeljack was based, though Marlboor Wheeljack's deco doesn't strive for the same level of accuracy. The original car on which his deco was based no longer exists as it was destroyed in a fire caused by its overheated engine.[1]
  • Marlboor Wheeljack is not the only Decepticon Wheeljack look-alike in the Transformers universe.
