El Dorado is a lost city made entirely of gold. It lies buried at the bottom of Laguna de Guatavita in Central Colombia.

Seeking to crash Earth's economy, Soundwave tracked down the location of El Dorado to the bottom of the lake. He employed the Tanto Gang, who used a Zipa Warhead to uncover the city. Before they could get to work nabbing the gold, Soundwave revealed himself and destroyed the gang's ship positioned over El Dorado. After Optimus Prime arrived, his fight against Soundwave resulted in the pair plunging into the lake and landing up in El Dorado, at which point Kubikiri detonated a second warhead, destroying the city.
