Goldbug, Slapdash, Joyride, and Getaway travelled to Nebulos to find appropriate facilities to rebuild Optimus Prime. However, Dreadwing had arrived much earlier and was terrorizing the planet with its Powermaster-fueled might. People Power!

Just rude, really.

At the notoriously robophobic Grand Central Space Station, Dreadwing (erroneously called "Darkwind") remained in vehicle mode and doesn't speak, to avoid attracting hostile attention. Dreadwing assisted Hi-Test and Throttle in their scheme of capturing robots to deliver to the Mecannibals, including Landmine and Cloudburst. Guess Who the Mecannibals Are Having for Dinner?

Later, Dreadwing and the Nebulans attacked those selfsame Autobot Pretenders as they traveled from Femax back to the Station, but they were surprised and defeated by Sky Lynx. They ended up on the run from the Mecannibals when the Autobots spilled the beans about Dreadwing being a pair of (presumably tasty) robots. Recipe for Disaster!

Fireflight and Skydive were in pursuit of Dreadwing when they accidentally shot him down over the ocean. Their mission was to recover a power cell that Throttle had stolen. Dreadwing remained disabled while the Autobots recovered the power cell from the water and left. Dreadwing Down!

Some time after, Dreadwing destroyed the Autobot Getaway on Klo, almost flying into a cliff in the process. End of the Road!

Dreadwing is a combination of the Darkwing and Dreadwind toys, combined mostly back-to-front, and with their respective handheld cannons combined and pegged into either side.

Notes

• In "Dreadwing Down!", Dreadwind and Darkwing speak to one another as individuals while in Dreadwing form, indicating that their minds do not merge as it does in other combiners.
