- The Tartarex Warp Sword is a weapon from the Aligned continuity family.
The Tartarex Warp Sword, sometimes called the Sharktooth Spear, is an immensely powerful transforming weapon once wielded by Megatron. In cannon-form, the weapon can fire a barrage of Energon-seeking micromissiles, while in blade-form it is shrouded in an antimatter warp field, destroying matter on contact and allowing it to cleave through a Cybertronian like hot butter. Megatron's own addiction to Dark Energon only makes the weapon more dangerous, as it can channel the tainted energy to provide its attacks with even more destructive power.
Fiction
Tales of the Beast Hunters
While attempting to extricate himself from the wreckage wrought by Lazerback's bombs upon the derelict spaceship, Megatron came upon the mighty Tartarex Warp Sword, which had been missed by the Autobots as they retrieved the other ancient weapons. While the sword repaired Megatron's body using the very wreckage that was trapping him mere moments before, Megatron remembered that he had once wielded it in earlier battles on a savage planet, and looked forward to using the incredible boon to get the Predacons in line and finally eliminate the Autobots.Tales of the Beast Hunters Chapter 22

Beast Hunters
- Megatron (Voyager, 2013)
- Series / Number: 02 / 006
- Accessories: Tartarex Warp Sword/Sharktooth Spear, missile
- Part of the fourth wave of Prime: Beast Hunters Voyager Class toys, Megatron is an extensive retool/redeco of Prime: Robots in Disguise Megatron. He wields the "Tartarex Warp Sword" (called the "Sharktooth Spear" in his instructions), a fish-themed cannon that can convert into a sword. In cannon mode, it can fire a spring-loaded missile. Like his fusion cannon, Megatron's warp sword can plug into his arm or back in robot mode, or on the center of the roof in vehicle mode. However, the 5mm post it uses can also be ratcheted into place as a sword hilt, allowing Megatron to wield the blade in his hand somewhat like a cutlass. Yaaar!
Notes
- "Tartarex" is a neat little pun, being both a riff on "King of Hell" (Tartarus Rex), while also referencing the Tartar sauce one would use as a condiment on fish like Megatron.
