During the Rust Age of Cybertron, when [[Predacon (Prime)|Predacons]] were still in natural existence, the Great Cataclysm raged across Cybertron, wiping out the entire Predacon race. Even though the cataclysm exterminated the Predacons' sparks, their fossilized remains where gradually berried under rust. It was not until the Golden Age that the cause of the cataclysm was discovered: strong magnetic storms where brewing above cybertron, and rust storms were getting hotter. One cycle, a storm so large and boiling struck all of cybertron, burning and fossilizing its inhabitants.

The Great Cataclysm is a historical event from the Aligned continuity family.

The Great Cataclysm was a catastrophic event in Cybertron's prehistory that abruptly ended the Rust Age. The disaster, of uncertain nature, wiped out the planet's dominant lifeforms at the time, the Predacons, leaving fossil artifacts as the only trace of their existence. Evolution
