Upon the discovery of strange ruins at the base of Mount St. Hilary that suggested to them that Transformers had been on Earth before them, the Autobot Micromasters constructed the Metrobase at the foot of the mountain in order to protect it from Decepticon attacks. - Metrobase was originally, in what was for a long time its one illustrated appearance (seen at the top of this article) drawn to resemble the Autobot city-bot Metroplex. Its white, blue and burgundy coloration, meanwhile, was similar, but not identical, to the Metroplex redeco Metrotitan
