The name or term "Swerve" refers to more than one character or idea. For a list of other meanings, see Swerve (disambiguation).
Swerve is an Autobot from the Aligned continuity family.
Was this what Swerve was talking about when he mentioned going on a "Prime Quest"?

Swerve (スワーブ Suwābu) tends to get lost in his own thoughts a lot. Which is pretty dangerous when he's driving through traffic. An incredibly intelligent geologist, he's vital to the Autobots' mission on Earth, scouting out energon deposits and other resources with the sensors in his arms. He tends to work alone, simply sending reports back to base as he roams the planet.

Well, mostly alone. Swerve long ago discovered the secret of the Arms Microns, but promised the diminutive robots that he would keep their existence a secret. As such, he's always got company in the form of his own Arms Micron partner Sou.

Toys

Prime

  • Autobot Swerve (Voyager, 8-25-2012)
    • ID number AM-17
    • Accessories: "Sou" Arms Micron
Part of the sixth wave of TakaraTomy Prime toys, Swerve is a redeco and retooling of Voyager Class Breakdown, transforming into an armored truck. He lacks many normal paint operations, leaving much of his detail to customer-applied stickers. Swerve has a single C joint bar at the rear of the truck, and features an incredible number of 5mm post-holes to attach Arms Microns to. As part of the line-wide Arms Micron gimmick, he comes with his packed-in partner, Sou, who transforms from a humanoid robot into a circular saw weapon, and also has numerous 5mm posts and holes.
This mold was also differently redecoed/retooled into Silas Breakdown.

Notes

  • Swerve's new head sculpt had been seen prior to his toy's release... but on a completely different toy. The instructions for the Prime Deluxe Ratchet show a non-Ratchet head sculpt that looks a lot like Swerve's. Apparently the headsulpt was meant for a (presently unreleased) Prime version of the Generation 1 Minibot Gears... who was later retooled to make Generation 1 Swerve. Eh? Eh? See what they did there?

Arms Up Modes

  • Blitz Mode (ブリッツモード Burittsu Mōdo)
    • Arms Microns: B.2, C.L., Sou
Seen on his box-back photo, this mode is simply Swerve holding the Eclipse Barrett Combo Weapon... really, TakaraTomy? Really? This dude's got over a dozen Micron mounting points in robot mode, and all you do is have him hold a big gun? Seriously? Are you even trying to sell your own gimmick?
