- Zenag is a Megatron metaphor from the Marvel portion of the Generation 1 continuity family.
Zenag is the leader of a brutal race of apes on a twisted technorganic planet. From atop a throne of skulls he leads his people in the conquest and destruction of their neighbours, the peaceful and graceful Cloran. To this end, he is cruel, deceitful, manipulative, cunning and incredibly violent.
He's almost too evil to be true...

When Optimus Prime, Ratchet and Prowl were unexpectedly transported to Zenag's world, they were beseeched by the Cloran to defend them from his barbaric assaults. Unable to refuse, the Autobots complied and prevented any further incursions into Cloran territory, so Zenag offered them a deal - allow his army to continue unhindered and he would give them a device that could return them to Earth. Judging Zenag to be untrustworthy, Optimus turned him down and continued to battle the technorganic beasts - but using non-lethal means. That changed with the arrival of the Decepticons Shockwave, Thundercracker and Frenzy who promptly annihilated Zenag's warriors.
Learning that Zenag possessed the means to return to Earth, Shockwave sought him out and was offered a different deal - the device in exchange for the annihilation of the Autobots. Expecting this betrayal, Optimus, Ratchet and Prowl easily subdued the Decepticons while Prime outlined his suspicions: that Zenag's war was too similar to their own to be a coincidence and that they were being manipulated into conflict.
