- The Vis Vitalis is a starship from the IDW portion of the Generation 1 continuity family.
The Vis Vitalis is more than just a simple starship. After he was mortally wounded during the Great War, the legendary Autobot hero Thunderclash had his life-support system modified into a spaceship that was capable of sustaining his life wirelessly as long as he was within a certain range, enabling him to continue his brave deeds and derring-do.
Fiction
IDW Generation 1 continuity
After "rescuing orphans from an exploding sun", the engines of the Vis Vitalis were damaged and so Thunderclash sought out the Lost Light in order to get a jump-start from its quantum engines. While on board the Lost Light, Thunderclash's first officer Paddox revealed himself to be a collection of Ammonites undercover and attempted to steal the Lost Light, leaving the Vis Vitalis (and Thunderclash) unable to function. Thankfully, they were disarmed by Swerve and Rung and after receiving the power boost to its engines, the Vis Vitalis continued on its way. Later, following a failed attempt at recruitment by the Lost Light's crew, several members of the Circle of Light left Luna 1 to seek out Thunderclash and the Vis Vitalis. Little Victories
Some time later on a mission to aid Metroplex at the request of Alpha Trion, its crew would travel to the city/planet Caminus where they took on board the Cityspeaker Windblade, her bodyguard Chromia and the engineer Nautica and delivered them to the Titan. Burning Bright
Known Crew
- Thunderclash (leader)
- Paddox (first officer, revealed to be a spy)
- Windblade (departed)
- Chromia (departed)
- Nautica (departed)
Notes
- "Vis Vitalis" is a concept aligned to Vitalism, which loosely translates as "life force", appropriately enough.
