Steven Melching is an American writer. In addition to Beast Machines, he has also written for X-Men, Extreme Ghostbusters, Big Guy and Rusty the Boy Robot, The Mummy: The Animated Series, The Batman, and Batman: The Brave and the Bold, and Star Wars: The Clone Wars. He served as a writer on Prime and will be story editor on Robots in Disguise.

He also co-wrote the seminal Star Wars fan-film TROOPS (In which Jess Harnell stars as a Stormtrooper).
