"Loosely-aligned with the Autobots" is right, with a huge emphasis on "loosely." All three of them are seen consistently on the side of the the Decepticons in [[Revelations, Part 5]]. And considering all of the identifiable Mini-Cons shown are from the Cybertron two-packs, I don't think it's a coloring mistake, since they're the only versions of that mold in that range.
