Simply a Burning Sky homage?
[edit]Could his name simply not be a homage to the fact Cindy mistakes Ultra Magnus' name as Ultra MAGNUM, hence his striking resemblance?
Another Animated montage?
[edit]I haven't seen him run around with a hammer or anything, but the line about him turning into a missile truck, coupled with his having Sentinel Major around as a lackeylieutenant, makes me think this guy might be more of a nod to Animated Magnus than a prior G1 iteration. Could the Magnum name be a way to avoid pre-empting the later emergence of a separate Ultra Magnus character in the Wings of Honor timeline? --Nerroth 19:05, 23 June 2010 (EDT)
- I got the feeling from his bio that he was meant more or less as a combination of all of the Ultra Magnuses. --Jeysie 19:21, 23 June 2010 (EDT)
Just thought i might add: In latin, Magnum is used as "Medium Big/Bigger than Normal", while Magnus means something like "Huge", wich, as i think, could refer to that UM had this name before he became an/the enforcer of the Tyrest Accord. Rustyscraplet 22:01, 14 December 2010 (UTC)
- Nope. Different cases of the same word in Latin. No difference in meaning except in context. Otherwise I like your theory though! --Destrongerlupus 17:10, 21 January 2011 (EST)
- I see, thanks for the correcting, n either for the compliment! --Rustyscraplet 15:09, 24 February 2011 (UTC)

Linked up
[edit]Should this page be linked up to Ultra Magnus? Magnum has some striking similarities to the Autobot. Ed
