Reedman is a Decepticon from the Revenge of the Fallen portion of the live-action film series. His name is also parsed as Reed Man.
"Oooh, look at the pretty light—" *ZZZAAPP*

Reedman is the form taken by a swarm of microcons when they combine together. The combined, mantis-like form is razor-thin, allowing for nigh-invisibility when seen from certain angles.

After Soundwave discovered the location of the AllSpark shard needed to resurrect Megatron, he deployed Ravage to the island of Diego Garcia where the human-Autobot alliance NEST was based. Ravage infiltrated the base's defenses and released the microcons into the ventilation system of the chamber where the AllSpark fragment was held. The ball bearings coalesced into Reedman and proceeded to steal the fragment. Security was alerted but were quickly dealt with by the razor-sharp Decepticon. The drone then headed outside and met up with Ravage, who fended off more humans and retrieved the fragment from Reedman. Revenge of the Fallen

Notes

  • When the name "Reedman" appeared in the film's credits, everyone was mightily confused, because it doesn't sound like a Transformer's name. While the Nintendo DS Revenge of the Fallen: Decepticons video game would quickly confirm that Reedman was this razor-thin rapscallion a few days after the film's premiere, the name still stands out as odd; it's probably a similar scenario to "Wheelbot" and "Skipjack", where rough, silly-sounding preliminary names were included in the film's credits. The difference here is that Hasbro didn't provide a "proper" name for Reedy.
  • Reedman is presumably the evolution of an early concept known as the "Hive", a monstrous six-legged robot that would have been composed of numerous Insecticons. [1]
