Oktober Guard

The Oktober Guard are a team from the Transformers vs. G.I. Joe continuity.

They're creepy and they're kooky, mysterious and ooky... they're the Oktober Guard, the Russian counterpart to America's G.I. Joe. The team includes:

• Colonel Breakoff, team leader
• Denia, murderess without mercy
• Dragun, fire-breathing reptilian
• Horrorshow, great and terrible
• S.H.R.I.E.K., robotic torture drone
• Münchnik, diminutive killer who speaks only in redacted dialogue

The Oktober Guard ambushed G.I. Joe's "non-human personnel" unit U.S.7 when they were on a supply run to the metal planet of Cybertron as it drew closer to Earth. Boarding chutes in their spaceship bored their way into U.S.7's craft, and a battle broke out between the two groups, but it lasted only a few moments before the gigantic Fortress Maximus reached up from the surface of Cybertron, grabbed the ship, and dumped all the guardsmen and Joe animals down his throat. • The Oktober Guard are long-standing figures in G.I. Joe history, having appeared in the original Marvel comic and animated series. Transformers vs. G.I. Joe completely reinterprets the characters into a horror/Halloween-themed team; outside of an unnamed cameo by one member in the Generation 1 cartoon episode "Prime Target", they have never appeared in Transformers fiction in their original incarnation as the USSR's counterpart to G.I. Joe, a military team comprising characters from various Communist bloc countries. Originally named after the October Revolution, their membership consisted of team leader Colonel Brekhov; marksman and helicopter pilot Daina; flamethrower-wielding mechanic Dragonsky; team muscle Horrorshow; infantry trooper Schrage; and paratrooper Stormavik.
