- Rather fittingly, Yuya Onishi was born in the year 1984, the same year the Transformers brand was first launched by Hasbro.
- When designing Transformers toys, Onishi makes a point to check out the real life equivalent of the figure's alternate mode for accurate reference, even visiting a zoo if the figure calls for a beast-based alternate mode.
