Newtronium is a substance from the cartoon portion of the Generation 1 continuity family.
Better than the old tronium.

Newtronium is a highly explosive substance which is stored in metal cylinders. Its uses are unknown, but it's apparently valuable enough that humans will go to extreme lengths to steal it.

Fiction

The Transformers cartoon

Victor Drath's thugs attempted to steal a canister of newtronium from a port. Their plan included using bombs in a number of buildings as a diversion while they snatched the canister, however the thugs were intercepted by Ultra Magnus and Rodimus Prime. As Rodimus held the canister, one of Drath's thugs shot it, causing it to explode and give the criminals time to escape.

Drath wasn't happy about the loss of the newtronium, as he'd promised it to a client. Only Human
