Dorie Dutton and her crew were covering the International Scientific Symposium in New York when a giant metal hand appeared, transformed into a robot, and introduced itself as Megatron. When one of the scientists at the symposium refused to go with Megatron, the giant robot unleashed a sonic wave which rendered the crowd, including Dutton and her news crew, unconscious. Battle Protocol!

Later news stories reported on by Dutton included:

• The planting of a terrorist bomb device in a red XE-12 model sports car imported into Metro City. An Explosive Situation
• The launch of the world's fastest bullet train, the Linear RFG. Bullet Train to the Rescue
• A second attack by Megatron and his Predacons, this time on Metro City. The Secret of the Ruins
• The display of the world's largest diamond ruby at the International Exposition Center. Mirage's Betrayal
• The making of a Hollywood film involving a statue turning into a dragon. Some people missed the end of this report and assumed that the statue was really a Transformer. The Ultimate Robot Warrior

Perhaps her greatest coup was the incident during her coverage of the opening of the CGA Tower, which was disrupted when the tower was attacked by Predacons, and Dutton was able to give a blow-by-blow on the attempts by Sky-Byte and the Autobot Build Team to rescue the endangered people. It was through Dorie Dutton's report that the public became aware of the fact that Sky-Byte was a great hero. Sky-Byte Saves the Day
