- Early Decepticon soldiers are a type of Decepticon from the cartoon portion of the Generation 1 continuity family.
This type of non-transforming early Decepticon formed the backbone of Decepticon forces in the generation prior to Megatron and Optimus Prime.

With both groups free to pursue their own interests, the Autobots took up interpretive dance while the Decepticons practiced parade-drills and organized marching. Perhaps inevitably this got boring and the Decepticons decided to conquer the planet. These soldiers formed the bulk of that army.
Decepticon soldiers carry a semi-automatic energy rifle with a single rocket mounted on top. They also sometimes use laser-guided rocket launchers for striking against fortified structures.
