Doctor Morocco proves that even small pests can pose dangerous threats to Griffin Rock.

Synopsis

At the Griffin Rock Community Pool, Cody Burns successfully performs the first test run on Graham's new crazy slide. As Kade swiftly loses interest in Graham's explanation of the engineering involved, Graham's suddenly congratulated by Amy, a young engineer who's just moved to Griffin Rock. Graham immediately becomes tongue-tied and she leaves. As Chief assures Graham he'll see Amy again, Barney rings to alert them to the fact that Doctor Morocco has disappeared from his cell. They quickly locate said Doctor via the GPS in his handcuffs and take him back into custody, unaware that he's just posted a letter. Morocco's soon sealed in a more high-security cell and Chief instructs Barney not to let Morocco have anything without his say so. They're interrupted by another call — a monkey is loose and causing havoc, resulting in a truck crash which Boulder arrives in time to stop. Blades lands, intending to grab the monkey, but almost slips over in the pile of bananas spilled from the truck. Boulder and Graham manage to catch the monkey, which turns out to be named Tesla and belongs to Amy. Graham again embarrasses himself in front of her and has to slope off.

Kade announces the intention to instill some confidence in Graham so he can talk to girls. He introduces Graham to his signature cologne "Man Smell", discards Graham's glasses and pocket protector, and rearranges his hair. Graham observes he now looks like Kade, who takes him to the cafe to test out his new look. Meanwhile Cody gets a call from Barney — Doctor Morocco has somehow acquired an ant farm and a small fan. Chief grudgingly lets it slide, but instructs Barney not to let Morocco have anything else. No sooner has Chief gone, than Morocco persuades Barney to let him have a radio. At the cafe, Amy turns up and the Bots, Kade and Cody hide. Unfortunately Graham again becomes tongue-tied and can only say "hi" to everything Amy says. Disgusted, Kade stalks off, leaving the Rescue Bots to try to make helpful suggestions. At the jail, Morocco finishes creating a device with the fan and radio, and uses it to command the ants to head for the laboratory.

Frankie Greene hunts for her chemistry notebook, but is startled by the MorBot's head sitting on a desk at the lab. As her father explains, she observes they suddenly have an ant problem, which results in Doc Greene accidentally spraying himself with orange juice. As they go to get cleaned up, they fail to notice the swarm of ants reconnecting the MorBot's power pod to its head. The next morning, Graham reveals his latest invention to his family — he's created a cologne and dubs it "Confident Me", which the rest of the family are impressed with. Congratulations are shortlived as Mr Pfeiffer rings to report the bakery is on fire. The team swings into action and soon has the fire put out, but discover that there's a suspicious hole chewed in the oven. Meanwhile Barney has received a new package of ants for Morocco, only to find that Morocco is in the middle of breaking out, thanks to the resurrected MorBot. In town, Graham is interviewed by Huxley Prescott about the fire, and reflects on his newfound confidence, though Boulder tells him he doesn't need fancy cologne. They're briefly hassled by some passing ants before they're called to the jail to deal with Morocco's escape.

At the jail, the team manages to stop Morocco taking off in the MorBot, until Morocco orders the ants to attack, revealing that they're a mutant strain of army ants which eat metal. The MorBot takes off, with Dani and Blades tailing him, while the rest of the team tries to get the ants under control. They contact Doc Greene hoping for some help in commanding the ants as Morocco did. Discovering that the ants communicate using smells, Cody suggests trying Graham's cologne. Chief calls back Dani and Blades, who have lost Morocco anyway, and sends them to the firehouse to get the cologne. Morocco believes he's in the clear, but soon finds that the ants are infesting his MorBot, which soon crashes. The rescue team reaches the community pool, where Graham gets Amy to clear the area as the ants attack the slide. The Rescue Bots also come under attack as they try to save the slide, but Blades arrives with the cologne and soon has the ants lured to the lab, where they're sealed in an ant farm.

A new crazy slide is installed in the pool, and Graham admits he got rid of the rest of the cologne. Boulder points out that Graham never needed it — when he saved everyone at the pool, the cologne had already been washed off. As Amy reappears, Graham invites her to see his blueprints and they depart, while Chief laments that they didn't catch Doctor Morocco. Morocco, meanwhile, is floating on the MorBot which is steadily losing mass thanks to the ants chewing bits off.

Quotes

"Your communication center seems to have malfunctioned. Need a stasis recharge?"

"Uh..."
[Falsetto] "Flowers, please."
"I don't have nearly enough imagination for this, Blades."

Blades and Graham

"Attention ants. You seem like reasonable and well-organized creatures. Obey the law and cease this vandalism." [sigh] "Were I but a queen."

Chase fails to reason with the ants.

"What's this? No! You accursed little beasts! Professor Crumpet, is that y-- ow! Attention you miserable insects! Stop eating my metal!"

Notes

Animation and technical errors

  • When Amy turns her head to look at Chief Burns while he's telling her to keep a closer eye on her monkey, her hair clip switches to the left side of her head.

Continuity errors

Continuity notes

  • A Chamber of Youth has been installed in the jail. Previously this was seen to be required to keep Morocco youthful.
  • The MorBot was destroyed back in "The Reign of Morocco". It appears the Rescue Bots did a less than thorough job!

Transformers references

Real-world references

  • Tesla is named for Nikola Tesla. Hope he gets on with Edison!
  • Tesla jumps on a car occupied by a man in a yellow hat, in reference to Curious George.
  • Army ants exist, though Morocco refers to them as "maragunta" when the term is "marabunta".

Trivia

  • The MorBot floats?
  • Chase just happened to have a box of chocolates and flowers in his cab?
