The Ark-17 is one of a fleet of numbered Autobot starships designated Ark, with the primary function of science vessel. They are presumably named after the first legendary lost Ark.

Springer used the Ark-17 as a platform from which he launched his operation to rescue Kup. The ship housed seemingly endless hordes of Autobots that Springer threw at the crazy and powerful Kup. Eventually, Trailbreaker rendezvoused with the Ark-17, and he easily rescued the old coot. Spotlight: Kup
