The Sideswipe clone is a Decepticon drone from the St. Michael Story Books portion of the Generation 1 continuity family.
You can't see me!

This character has no official visual representation in any Transformers product or media... yet, at least.

The Sideswipe clone is a duplicate of the real Sideswipe, indistinguishable to the casual observer. Unlike the real Sideswipe, he is made out of a special ore only found on Carob Island. Oh, and he's also unconditionally loyal to Megatron thanks to the latter's reprogramming. He was built thanks to the mechanical expertise of Madame Cee.

St Michael Story Books

The Sideswipe clone was created with the sole purpose in mind to frame the real Sideswipe. Under Megatron's command, he was sent to destroy the Nova Suspension Bridge in broad daylight in front of plenty of witnesses. His deed done, the Sideswipe clone then took off, never to be seen again. He did leave a little piece of himself behind though, which allowed the Autobots to solve the mystery of his existence. Notes

  • The Sideswipe clone is never pictured throughout the storybook, as his part of the story is told exclusively through the testimony of eyewitnesses. Considering that he looks exactly like Sideswipe, who is pictured in the book, however, it doesn't take much imagination to picture him.
