Major is a military rank from the Transformers Animated continuity family and Generation 1 continuity family.

In several Cybertronian military structures, Major is a rank, usually an Autobot one, lying above Minor and below Prime.

IDW Generation 1 continuity

Nova Major became the leader of Prima's tribe after his master fled off-planet during the First Cybertronian Civil War. After the end of the war with the blessing of Alpha Trion, last of the Thirteen on Cybertron, Nova took on the mantle of Prime to become Nova Prime, sole leader of Cybertron. The Crucible
