Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen — The Score is an album featuring the original instrumental music composed by Steve Jablonsky for the live-action sequel Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. Unlike the delayed limited release of the first movie's score album, this score was released by Reprise Records on June 23, 2009, the same day as Revenge of the Fallen's rock/pop album. The digital download version was released even earlier, on June 12 in the United Kingdom.

2. Einstein's Wrong (3:35) — Sam has a 'full blown mental meltdown' in Professor Colan's class; Simmons briefs Sam on what he knows of the Cybertronian history on Earth.
3. NEST (2:08) — NEST gears up to fight Demolishor; Optimus and Bumblebee saving Sam, Mikaela, and Leo from Megatron, Starscream, and the Doctor.
4. 9. Tomb Of The Primes (2:47) — Sam, Mikaela, Leo, and Simmons find the Matrix of Leadership in the Tomb of the Primes.

Recording Session Cue Sheet

As with most film scores, the original album is an incomplete representation of the score, often abridged to fit on one disc and re-arranged for the average listener's experience in mind. Even so, the on-the-fly nature of the film's production resulted both in the recording of a fairly large number of alternate cues and extensive edits of existing tracks to better fit the film.

Though much of it has fallen victim to leaks, the entire complete score remains unavailable, but the scoring session titles are as follows:

1. 1m01v7 17,000 BC (1:25) — In the Past, primitive hunters discover the Sun Harvester and run afoul of the Fallen.
2. 1m02v05 Shanghai (1:02) — Morshower maneuvers NEST teams in present-day Shanghai.
3. 1m03v6 Soldiers and Ironhide Get Ready (1:24) — The NEST team arrives on the scene in Shanghai.
4. 1m03bv3.2 Autobots Into Action (0:52) — Ironhide transforms as the NEST soldiers close in on Demolishor's signal. The ending is slightly tweaked in the film.
5. 1m04v1.6 Audibot (0:41) - Unused cue presumably composed with Sideways in mind.
6. 1m04-5v1.4 Audibot Joins In and Splits (1:49) — Sideswipe, Arcee, Chromia, Elita-One and the Twins chase down Sideways.
7. 1m05v1.16 Wheelbot On The Bridge (1:05) — Demolishor rampages through Shanghai as Optimus dives down to confront him. Unused in the movie proper.

A second part of the track, which corresponds to Bumblebee transforming and dispatching the robots, went unused in the film. A portion of the string section where Sam is attacked was lifted and combined with part of "Camaro on the Run" from the previous film, for immediately before the Egyptian police chase.

A pitch-dropped version of the beginning of this track is also used later on, when Sam and Mikaela duck into a hut to hide from Starscream and the Constructicons.
30. 2m19v10.3 Diving For Megatron (2:33) — Megatron is resurrected at the bottom of the ocean by Scalpel and the Constructicons. Slightly edited in the film proper, with a short loop as the USS Kansas submerges and an extremely subtle shortening between the first and second hits of Megatron's rise through the ocean.

35. 2m28v1.9 Chop Shop Torture (2:32) — As Sam and Mikaela put the pieces together over the phone, Wheelie is captured trying to steal the Shard. Note that the end is slightly truncated in the film, missing part which would have played as Mikaela grappled with Wheelie. However, that particular tidbit was used in Dark of the Moon, when Simmons announces his intent to "tango" with Megatron.
36. 2m29v7.4 Autobots On The Move (1:17) — The Autobots roll out as Mikaela flies to a scribbling Sam's aid.

43. 2m35v3.6 Foundry Save To Forest Fight (1:24) — Optimus and Bumblebee rescue the humans from Megatron and Starscream; Megatron ambushes Optimus as he flees with Sam. In the film, the brass cover of the "New Divide" riff and the lead-up to it are switched around, and some of the drums played during said lead-up (where Megatron executes a backflip as Optimus descends rom the ceiling) are muted. To better line up with the shots of escaping vehicles in the film, there is a subtle shortening edit (around 1:05 in the original version of the track) and a short loop of the end chorus' beginning to compensate for it. The end fades out as Optimus and Megatron roll away into the Pine Barrens.
44. 2m35av7.3 Forest Battle (2:10) — Optimus makes his stand in the Pine Barrens. There are two distinct edits of the track in both the regular and IMAX versions of the film, but both use the beginning of the second half, albeit dropped 5% in tempo, for Grindor and Starscream's arrival. The regular version omits the synth panning and crescendo in the beginning, but proceeds mostly unchanged until the Decepticons begin to overpower Optimus, whereupon it is rather drastically shortened. In both versions, the original "New Divide" orchestral piece for Optimus' second wind went unused, replaced with individual edits of " Forest Battle (Alternate 2)."
45. 2m36Newv52 Prime Down (1:29) — Megatron kills Optimus as the other Autobots save Sam. Portions of this track later played over the part of "Optimus Rebuilt - Final Battle" where Optimus lies crippled after the Fallen's attack.

The end note is also cut off in the transition back to the soldiers' battle.

The first, corresponding to the regular cut, is largely unchanged bar some looping of previous elements when Optimus leaps onto Grindor. The IMAX version uses some clever loops and edits to add an additional swell when Optimus hurls his sword into Grindor. The offset from this means that the "Grindor jump" loop comes earlier in this version. In addition, the loop itself is less ornate.
94. 2m36v9 Prime Down (Original Version) (2:00) — Alternate cue for Optimus' death. This serves as the basis for the first part of the "Infinite White" suite.

Notes

• Linkin Park and Hans Zimmer worked with Steve Jablonsky on the score of the movie. Linkin Park also wrote a song featured in the movie, called "New Divide". It was one of the theme songs for the movie, and they did several interpretations on that theme. The guitar riff of "New Divide" is sampled in the track "NEST".
