Project Re-Birth

Project Re-Birth is a plan by Straxus from the Marvel portion of the Generation 1 continuity family.

Following the loss of his body, Straxus has developed Project Re-Birth, a plan to give himself a new powerful body by simply taking over someone else's. In a supreme example of taking a bad idea and making it worse, the recipient he has picked out for this dubious honor happens to be the strong-willed and tyrannical Decepticon leader Megatron.

Project Re-Birth appeared exclusively in the UK portion of the Marvel Comics continuity.

Straxus planned to imprint his own brain patterns onto the Decepticon leader Megatron. Resurrection! The plan failed, but as a backup he had created a clone of Megatron from a Decepticon trooper. Failing to take control of the real Megatron, Straxus transferred his mind to the clone. Unfortunately Megatron's personality was also copied to the clone and became dominant, making the clone believe that he was the real Megatron. Two Megatrons! The clone was later moved to Earth where it was discovered in the sewers of London and mistaken for Megatron. Ancient Relics!

Ask Vector Prime

In some universes, versions of the clone would go on to menace Megatron and Optimus Prime alike as Archforce. Ask Vector Prime
