Beachcomber is an Autobot from the Animated continuity family.
"DUDE! I saw a bird. It was, like, pretty."

Meet Beachcomber. Beachcomber's the dude. Beachcomber waves "hi". Beachcomber is nice. He wants to be everyone's friend. He also takes drugs, like syk, simultronics, Angolmois, and crysmag.[1] Unfortunately, good things do not happen to Beachcomber. Poor guy.

Notes

  • Beachcomber was originally intended to debut in a scene with Shockwave during "TransWarped", in which he died horribly, turning gray and crumbling into dust.[2] The scene was recorded, with Beachcomber being voiced by Tom Kenny, who would provide a surfer type of voice. It was cut from the show for reasons unknown, other than being cut for time.
    • Had a fourth season of Animated been produced, its season premiere "The Trial of Megatron" would have featured a scene of Beachcomber getting ambushed and brutally killed by Blackout instead.
  • Derrick J. Wyatt mourns the loss of said scene, having expressed his lack of fondness for Beachcomber on several occasions.[citation needed] Jim Sorenson also says he's not alone in this hatred,[3] and Marty Isenberg claimed that had Beachcomber somehow survived Season 4 as well, they would've found a way to kill him in Season 5. Poor hippie.
    • However, Derrick's dislike of Beachcomber ended up waning after a while.[4]
  • Derrick J. Wyatt has also provided some tips about how to play Beachcomber for an RP group on Twitter, suggesting he should be dumber and more stoned, also claiming that his processor should be "totally fried." Oh, Derrick.[5]
