The Air Commander serves as the leader of the fliers of a Transformer military.

Fiction

Generation 1

Starscream served as the Decepticon Air Commander, leading the Seekers. Naturally, this wasn't enough for Starscream.

Classics

When Thundercracker defected to Bludgeon's Decepticons, he was promoted to Air Commander, as Starscream still served under Megatron's Decepticons.

Beast Wars

Injector was the Predacon Air Commander.
