Splinter grenade

A splinter grenade or shrapnel grenade is a Decepticon weapon deployed by Shrapnel. The Maximal Depth Charge carries disc-shaped shrapnel grenades, also known as "power pizzas".

When Spike Witwicky, Brawn, Bumblebee, Skyfire, and Windcharger attempted to hide from the Insecticons in a field of wheat, Shrapnel used a splinter grenade to cut down the crops and reveal them. A Plague of Insecticons Later, in a confrontation with the Autobot Mirage, Shrapnel fired a similar stream of spikes directly from his grenade launcher wrist socket. Traitor

During an attack on Washington, D.C. in order to disrupt peace talks between the Autobots and the President of the United States, Shrapnel (under the control of Ravage) took Prowl out of action with a splinter grenade. Plague of the Insecticons!
