King Kong
- King Kong is a (possibly) fictional ape from the Generation 1 continuity family.
King Kong is a giant ape, and star of a self-titled movie. He may be associated with Godzilla.

The Transformers cartoon
Wheeljack saw King Kong when he patched his databank into a television broadcast of the movie. He was reminded of the ape when Devastator scaled the Empire State Building during a Transformer battle in New York City, and took a leaf out of the movie's book by remote-controlling some drone helicopters and sending them to attack him. When Devastator easily swatted the craft out of the air, Hound consoled Wheeljack by suggesting that maybe Devastator had seen the movie too. City of Steel

Earthforce
The reporter Irwin Spoon considered Superion's destructive behaviour in upper New York State similar to that depicted in a Japanese monster movie. When Prowl didn't get the reference, he went on to cite King Kong as an example. Inside Story!
Cartoon continuity
Wheeljack has seen King Kong. When Devastator was causing trouble in New York he said the Constructicon gestalt reminded him of the "big baboon" and sent remote-controlled helicopters after him. Judging from his reaction, it's possible Devastator has also seen King Kong. City of Steel
Notes
- Since there may be a Godzilla in this universe, it's also possible there is a King Kong. There is precendent for that sort of thing, after all.
- In real life, the main protagonist of Beast Wars is a direct homage to Kong.[1]
