Gears is an Autobot from the Revenge of the Fallen portion of the live-action film continuity family.

How dare Hasbro make me a redeco of a Decepticon.

Gears likes complaining. It makes him happy. But more importantly, he knows that his fellow Autobots find his endless litanies amusing rather than annoying. And in a war that's run a few million years, a little laughter can make a big difference, so he keeps at it.

Gears was sent to South Africa to prevent the local Autobots from being slaughtered... but then had to let the Decepticons go, to prevent civilian deaths. When Brawn balked that the humans could see them being beaten, Gears rsesponded that when it comes to saving lives you shelve your pride. Inside Out!

Gears is a redeco of Stockade, using Generation 1 Gears' traditional colors for his robot parts while transforming into a silver Cadillac Escalade SUV decorated with gear markings. His main gimmick is a gear-driven punch activated by pulling back on the luggage bar on either forearm. For whatever reason, his chestplate is removable.
