Chieko Higuchi

Chieko Higuchi (樋口智恵子, Higuchi Chieko) is a Japanese voice actress who was born on January 30, 1981 in Mitaka, Tokyo. She began working as a child actress on stage. She is 154cm tall and is bloodtype B.

She is best known for the role of Tomo Takino from Azumanga Daioh.

• In January of 2004, she was visiting New York City and was having problems with a subway ticket. A station attendant told her to just go in through a wheelchair entry. An imposing undercover NYPD officer grabbed her. Not knowing he was a cop, she believed him to be a mugger and fought back. He slammed her against a wall (breaking the ceramics she had just bought) and fined her $60. When she tried to explain, The Man said, "One more word and I'm throwing you in jail."
