Notes
Continuity notes
- The Lady of Griffin Rock was established to be a long-running Griffin Rock legend back in the Rescue Bots episode "The Haunting of Griffin Rock".
- Both Medix and Whirl both display Energize tools in this episode: Whirl's is a scanner that includes Infrared and Ultraviolet settings, while Medix's appears to be some sort of magnet.
Transformers references
- Whirl and Medix both wear hard hats when they enter the abandoned mansion.
Real-world references
- The title is derived from the term "Wild Goose Chase", when someone is sent on a fool's errand as a distraction.
- Whirl references the Good cop/bad cop interrogation technique and is clearly familiar with the story of the Trojan Horse.
- Hoist is working on a Rube Goldberg device.
- Medix plays the first five notes of Für Elise on the mansion piano.

Trivia
- Cybertronian text displayed when we see Whirl's point of view: "DETECTING ACTIVITY", "MISSION", and later "INFRARED", "SEARCHING DANGER".
