Yellow and Silver seek meanings to their existence.

Synopsis

During battle training, Silver worries that, with the mainline Trainbots up and operational, their fate as prototypes is the scrapyard, but Yellow takes it in stride, telling him to find what he can do to give himself purpose as she easily uses her super-sense skill to detect a weakness in Silver's leg and take him down. The "genius doctor" rips off his leg for efficient repair of the flaw she detected, to Silver's consternation, and promises to get it back to him as soon as possible. During checkup by Atari Hitotonari, the human's questions of concern lead Yellow to reassess her view of fixing every flaw, including those that she may find in herself. Atari tells her to lighten up and stop bearing all burden by herself. The snooping Silver enters the room and takes both Yamabuki and Atari outside for a talk. After the doctor's clinical assessment of being able to see Cybertron from Earth, Silver reassures his teammate that he's appreciative of her work, as are the other prototype Trainbots.

During Scorponok's wide-scale attack on Earth, the Trainbot Prototype Unit is sent in as part of Autobot forces aboard Metroplex, but they are directly attacked by Scorponok's gigantic Megazarak transtector. The despairing Yellow attempts to repair Battle as a shot nears her, which is deflected by Silver's silvanite shell. He manages to exert more control over the substance, forming a shield to protect himself and others. Finding that they have their own skills that they can use together to rescue fallen comrades, the Trainbots go through the battlefield doing so.

Later, Silver upgrades himself to match Yellow's vehicle mode, rechristening himself as the Nurse Fighter Ginou. Yellow has done the same, renaming herself Medical Commander Yamabuki. They both have found their "rails" in life—protection for Ginou and helping for Yamabuki. At this junction, the other prototype Trainbots set off to find what their own skills and rails are, but this is a reason to exist in itself.

In the 2020s during the battles for the Zodiac, Raiden is felled by an attack from the Nine Great Demon Generals. Yamabuki and Ginou come to their rescue. With Shouki and Yukikaze down, the two medical Trainbots take their place in combination, forming Shiden, who uses the two's skills in fighting against their enemies.
