Gorlam Prime is a planet in the <a href="http://tfwiki.net/wiki/IDW" class="mw-redirect" title="IDW">IDW</a> comics portion of the <a href="http://tfwiki.net/wiki/Generation_One" class="mw-redirect" title="Generation One">Generation One</a> <a href="http://tfwiki.net/wiki/Continuity_family" title="Continuity family">continuity family</a>. It was renamed Cybertron by its inhabitants.

Gorlam Prime is a planet in the same sector of space as the <a href="http://tfwiki.net/wiki/Benzuli_Expanse" title="Benzuli Expanse">Benzuli Expanse</a> cosmic anomaly. It has recently experienced a technological renaissance, with great leaps in science and an obvious transition from biological to mechanical lifeforms. This advancement has been rather sudden and unprecedented, happening at an unusual rate.

Deep below its surface, the planet houses a strange ocean-like anomaly that leads to the <a href="http://tfwiki.net/wiki/Dead_Universe" title="Dead Universe">Dead Universe</a>.

<a name="Fiction"></a><h2><span class="editsection">[<a href="http://tfwiki.net/w2/index.php?title=Gorlam_Prime&action=edit&section=1" title="Edit section: Fiction">edit</a>]</span> <span class="mw-headline">Fiction</span></h2> <a name="IDW_comics_continuity"></a><h3><span class="editsection">[<a href="http://tfwiki.net/w2/index.php?title=Gorlam_Prime&action=edit&section=2" title="Edit section: IDW comics continuity">edit</a>]</span> <span class="mw-headline">IDW comics continuity</span></h3> While studying the world, <a href="http://tfwiki.net/wiki/Nightbeat_%28G1%29" title="Nightbeat (G1)">Nightbeat</a> suspected Cybertronian influences in their technology, and he was vindicated upon finding remains of the original <a href="http://tfwiki.net/wiki/Ark_%28G1%29" title="Ark (G1)">Ark spacecraft</a> in an archaeological dig. He was then attacked by a previously unknown type of Transformer. These <a href="http://tfwiki.net/wiki/Micromaster" title="Micromaster">smaller individuals</a> herded him towards a "<a href="http://tfwiki.net/wiki/Dead_Universe" title="Dead Universe">Hole in the World</a>" deep beneath the planet's surface. <span style="border-style: solid; border-color: rgb(204, 204, 204); border-width: 0pt 1px; padding: 0pt 5px; font-size: 10px; background-color: rgb(236, 236, 236);" class="tt1_nowrap"><a href="http://tfwiki.net/wiki/Spotlight:_Nightbeat" title="Spotlight: Nightbeat">Spotlight: Nightbeat</a></span>

When Nightbeat later returned with <a href="http://tfwiki.net/wiki/Hardhead_%28G1%29" title="Hardhead (G1)">Hardhead</a>, trying to find out what had happened the first time, they found the entire world was in chrysalis state and evolving into a final form; the only active lifeforms were the small Transformers. Jhiaxus revealed to Hardhead that the entire planet was one big experiment, as he had been slowly turning the locals into the smaller Transformers. These more durable forms were intended to survive the coming <a href="http://tfwiki.net/wiki/Expansion" title="Expansion">Expansion</a>, and would become the template for the rest of the universe. <span style="border-style: solid; border-color: rgb(204, 204, 204); border-width: 0pt 1px; padding: 0pt 5px; font-size: 10px; background-color: rgb(236, 236, 236);" class="tt1_nowrap"><a href="http://tfwiki.net/wiki/Spotlight:_Hardhead" title="Spotlight: Hardhead">Spotlight: Hardhead</a></span>

While Jhiaxus was busy proceeding with the Expansion, <a href="http://tfwiki.net/wiki/Arcee_%28G1%29" title="Arcee (G1)">Arcee</a> interrupted him and chased him to the silvery underground sea. As Jhiaxus tried to escape through it, the now undead Hardhead arose and barred his way. This gave Arcee the time she needed to kill him. Hardhead explained that in this place, the border between two dimensions, Jhiaxus -- like himself -- was now essentially immortal. That suited Arcee fine, as it meant she could spend eternity killing Jhiaxus over and over and over and over and over and over and over.

Later <a href="http://tfwiki.net/wiki/Jetfire_%28G1%29" title="Jetfire (G1)">Jetfire</a> watched the planet, observing as its inhabitants emerged from their stasis as completely mechanical beings. They no longer referred to their world as Gorlam Prime, instead calling it... Cybertron. <span style="border-style: solid; border-color: rgb(204, 204, 204); border-width: 0pt 1px; padding: 0pt 5px; font-size: 10px; background-color: rgb(236, 236, 236);" class="tt1_nowrap"><a href="http://tfwiki.net/wiki/Spotlight:_Sideswipe" title="Spotlight: Sideswipe">Spotlight: Sideswipe</a></span>
