His intelligence and bravery make him <a href="http://tfwiki.net/wiki/Blackjack" title="Blackjack">Blackjack</a>'s most valued operative in the <a href="http://tfwiki.net/wiki/Sports_Car_Patrol" title="Sports Car Patrol">Sports Car Patrol</a>, but his willingness to follow orders can't be relied on. Despite this, and his disdain for Blackjack's intricate plans and excessive caution, they work well together.

In reality, Ratchet was needed to assist in the recreation of Megatron's most lethal lieutenant, <a href="http://tfwiki.net/wiki/Starscream_%28G1%29" title="Starscream (G1)">Starscream</a>. Road Hugger and his teammates continued to serve Megatron as muscle until Megatron's plans and his fortress came crashing down around him, thanks to Ratchet's trickery.
