Straxus is a heroic Decepticon from the Shattered Glass continuity family.

Straxus, the joyous Bard of Darkmount, is perhaps the most venerated poet and playwright of all Cybertronian history. So respected was he that when Straxus withdrew from society as the Transformers' civil war flared, the civil war let him be. And so Straxus lived undisturbed for eons, just beyond the boundaries of his native Darkmount. Curiously, he has suddenly returned to the forefront as his race has begun breaching universal boundaries. This bewilders most, but some suspect he has supernatural insight.

On the battlefield, Straxus can bring even the largest opponent to the knees with his pick axe, and his alt-mode's sonic cannon can shatter steel. "Xal Unbound," his celebrated masterpiece, is believed to be the fulcrum of Cybertronian philosophy and theater.

When Cliffjumper (a lost traveller from another dimension) compared the mental state of the local Optimus Prime to the insanity of the Straxus from his own universe, the Decepticon-aligned Autobot Sideswipe expressed surprise and wondered where Cliffjumper had come from, as he had always enjoyed Straxus's poetry. A redeco of Generations Darkmount, the "Bard of Darkmount" transforms into a half-tracked self-propelled artillery inspired by the South African G6 Rhino, as well as a tripod-mounted howitzer platform called a "battle station".

In vehicle mode, the turret can rotate and the barrel can raise. In robot mode, the cannon barrel becomes his trademark pick-axe weapon, while his smaller weapons (featuring C joints) can clip onto various compatible rungs, bars and tubes sculpted onto the vehicle or robot.

• Straxus's color scheme is based on the bizarrely-colored Straxus head on the cover of Transformers Comic-Magazin #10.
• Despite being a poet, Straxus's filecard motto has a subject/verb agreement error.
• Bard of Darkmount's baggie labeled him "Spraxus."
