- Genericons are a Decepticon sub-faction from the IDW continuity portion of the Generation 1 continuity family.
Genericons are Decepticon cannon fodder used in the frontlines, distinguished from regular Decepticon soldiers by a color variance in their faction symbols. The name is a derogatory term coined by the Autobots.[1]

Two Genericons, who were also members of Triple M, came to Delphi seeking asylum from the Decepticon Justice Division, and were put in custody. Later on it was revealed they shared a branched spark and would need to be conjoined in order to save their lives. That operation never came as an outbreak of Red Rust. They later broke out of their confinement with some sort of remote override, ambushed Pharma and cornered Ratchet, Drift, Pipes and Ambulon.
