The name or term "Megazarak" refers to more than one character or idea. For a list of other meanings, see Megazarak (disambiguation).
Megazarak is a Decepticon from the Armada portion of the Unicron Trilogy continuity family (via the 2003 Universe series).
Shiv!

Completely without mercy or fear, Megazarak is one of the most brutal Decepticon leaders in the Aurex universal cluster. If not stopped in time, he will gleefully leave his planet a corpse-strewn wasteland and it will only get worse from there.

When he killed his reality's Optimus Prime, he left his victim's chassis—and the Matrix within—to corrode on the shores of the Rust Sea. In time, this would become the cloning source for the malevolent Herald of Unicron, Nemesis Prime!

When Nemesis first awoke inside Unicron, the last thing he could recall was his template's death at the hands of Megazarak, the Decepticon taunting Optimus Prime that the Matrix of Leadership would die with him. Nemesis Prime's profile

Ask Vector Prime

In the ancient days of Aurex 404.11 Kappa, Megazarak was a warlord who the Autobots led by Vector Prime fought and defeated.

In Aurex 304.0 Epsilon, Megazarak, whose subordinates included Sunstorm, Dreadwind, and Smokejumper, killed Optimus Prime, providing Unicron with the source for Nemesis Prime. It all ended in tears for him when Tornedron and the Hytherion ate the reality he'd messed up. Take that, Megazarak! Ask Vector Prime

    • Accessories: 3 missiles
Megazarak was an exclusive toy from OTFCC 2004. He is a purple, red, black, and electric blue redeco of Armada Megatron, transforming into a Cybertronic tank. He retains almost all of the gimmicks of the retail releases; the electronic lights and sounds were removed for cost concerns. He came with the "Micromaster" Caliburn.

Notes

  • Megazarak's "dimension" classification was originally unclear as the "Shell Game" comic and Nemesis Prime's profile provided little background information. In 2015, the Facebook version of Ask Vector Prime simultaneously declared that there were Robots in Disguise (2001) and Unicron Trilogy incarnations of Megazarak.
  • One fun bit of confusion: Megazarak's old 3H souvenir profile can only refer to Armada Megazarak cos it refers to minions that Vector Prime says he only has in Aurex worlds, while his tech spec has to mean a different Defensor than the planned toy as he's now an RID guy!
  • Megazarak was part of an aborted plan for a Transformers Generation 3. He was originally conceived as a new form for the original Megatron (as his colors, particularly in robot mode, loosely imply) under the name "Chaos Megatron", after the specific color of black used, but Hasbro did not allow 3H to use the character.[1] Thus, he was renamed after the Japanese version of Scorponok.
