Jim Moon was serving under Captain Cartwright at the Al Udeid Air base in Qatar when they were assigned on a mission to team up with the Autobot Ironhide in order to track down the Decepticon Scorponok out in the desert. The group ran into disaster early in the mission when Scorponok burst out of the sands, and attached himself to Ironhide, gaining control over the Autobot. Moon was banged up somewhat in Ironhide-Scorponok's initial assault, but was relatively unharmed. Thanks to Darius Gale's sharp-shooting skills, the humans were able to sever Scorponok's link to Ironhide, who then swiftly dealt with the Decepticons. Jim Moon and the rest of the squad stood victorious over their fallen adversary, and prepared to return to base to announce the job taken care of. Scorpion Sting
