The name or term "Megazarak" refers to more than one character or idea. For a list of other meanings, see Megazarak (disambiguation).
Megazarak is a Decepticon from the 2001 Robots in Disguise continuity family (via the 2003 Universe series).
Shiv!

Completely without mercy or fear, Megazarak is responsible for the near-annihilation of the Autobots in many timestreams, often including Optimus Prime. He amassed a small army of loyal followers and tore through Cybertron in a genocidal war unprecedented in this Cybertron's history... and most other Cybertrons, in fact. The surface of the planet is littered with the remains of Autobot and Decepticon alike, but mostly Autobot. He has nearly obliterated the planet, leaving only his followers and a tiny handful of straggling Autobot resistance fighters lurking deep within the planet.

I'm so evil I beat around old men!

In Viron 704.31 Epsilon, Megazarak came to power after Megatron's death on Earth. Scourge was his main rival but Megazarak pretended to back down, then poisoned the guy and turned him into a loyal warrior, Toxitron. Building on this, he turned Megatron's corpse into the undead Megabolt, hoping to gain control of Brave Maximus; and used the Robo-Smasher to convert the Build Team and Team Bullet Train into his slaves, renamed the Constructicons and Dominus Trannis. Sky-Byte left his army in disgust and took the Predacon Trio with him.

His rampage against the Autobots was aided in part by the disappearance of many of Optimus Prime's soldiers as a result of Unicron abducting them to fight in the Universe War. Although some of Megazarak's own soldiers were abducted as well, Megazarak ultimately vanquished his opposition and almost all Autobots were left dead.

Megazarak and his Micromaster partner, Caliburn delved deep into Cybertron in search of the Oracle, which Megazarak believed would give him the location of Base Sigma, the last pocket of Autobot resistance, and the hiding place of the Matrix . Only the Oracle's ancient caretaker Ultra Trion stood in his way, but not for long.

Megazarak simply batted Ultra Trion aside, but when the guardian continued to attack, Megazarak quickly grew tired of the distraction and obliterated the ancient Autobot. But the Oracle wasn't in its ancient chamber anymore, delaying Megazarak's final victory yet again. Shell Game

Eventually, he fought the Last Autobot[1] , Defensor, in final battle... and also Sky Byte, who led his old team in support of the Autobot! Megazarak was defeated after Defensor created the Chaos Armor.

Cybertron comic

Another Megazarak came from Viron 403.0 Beta and called himself God Emperor Supreme of the Destructicons. With Jhiaxus as his second in command, he devastated his Cybertron and left only the Dinobots as any real opposition... and then went looking for more Cybertrons! After testing dimension hopping tech with a strike against Primax 1087.09 Alpha, he hopped into the war-ravaged Aurex 304.0 Epsilon—leaving only his loyal second-in-commmand Jhiaxus behind.

With Bludgeon, Scourge, Dreadwind, Smokejumper, and Sunstorm, he easily stomped Aurex 304.0 Epsilon. Megazarak killed the local Optimus Prime, taunting him that the Matrix inside of him would rot with him, before ripping out his spark and abandoning Optimus's remains on the shores of the Rust Sea. Eventually, this would provide Unicron with the source of his malevolent Herald Nemesis Prime. Nemesis Prime's profile The Decepticons tried to buddy up with the Destructicons, even giving Galvatron's own personal Mini-Con, Caliburn, to Megazarak. It didn't last. All the carnage was fed on by Unicron and after the war, Tornedron and the Hytherion ate the reality he'd messed up. You suck, Megazarak!

The victorious Destructicons were abducted by Unicron for the Universe War, but Jhiaxus rescued his master from the Cauldron. At some point, the Defensor of Viron 704.31 caught wind of this dimension-hopping menace through the Matrix and set out to stop him.

I am one dude less to cram into the Megatron disambiguation page.
  • Megazarak with Caliburn Mini-Con figure (Ultra, 2004)
    • Accessories: 3 missiles
Megazarak was an exclusive toy from OTFCC 2004. He is a purple, red, black, and electric blue redeco of Armada Megatron, transforming into a Cybertronic tank. He retains almost all of the gimmicks of the retail releases; the electronic lights and sounds were removed for cost concerns. He came with the "Micromaster" Caliburn.

Notes

  • Megazarak's "dimension" classification was originally unclear as the "Shell Game" comic and Nemesis Prime's profile provided little background information. In 2015, the Facebook version of Ask Vector Prime simultaneously declared that there were Robots in Disguise (2001) and Unicron Trilogy incarnations of Megazarak, and then that almost all the Unicron Trilogy stuff was done by a dimension-hopping RID Megazarak.
  • Megazarak was part of an aborted plan for a Transformers Generation 3. He was originally conceived as a new form for the original Megatron (as his colors, particularly in robot mode, loosely imply) under the name "Chaos Megatron", after the specific color of black used, but Hasbro did not allow 3H to use the character.[2] Thus, he was renamed after the Japanese version of Scorponok.
