Talk:Daniel Faces His Biggest Crisis Ever!!
I was just reading the Notes on this episode and something caught my eye. Although I don't think there's any way I can prove it, I suspect it's remotely possible that the "alternate" title may have come from a list of self-created titles I once posted to rec.arts.animation. and used to label episodes for the purposes of video trading with other fans. I used to make up titles when the correct ones were unknown to me for various reasons. For example, "Hogan's Heroes" had proper titles but they weren't broadcast with the episode names so I had to make up titles for ones I recorded.
Anyway, I had no way of translating anime episode names so I often made up ones that seemed appropriate based on what I understood of the story. My copies were raw and came from off-air recordings rented from a local Japanese grocery store back in the late 80s. "The Most Important Thing In the World" was the name I gave to this episode (I had just watched my copy of G..I. Joe S2 "The Most Dangerous Thing In the World" and this probably had some impact). I'd have to go through my old Beta copies to check other titles if anyone has a copy of that fanlist. I doubt my RAA posts still exist. It wasn't until the actual titles were printed in the BotCon '94 program book that I knew their correct names.
Of course, it's equally possible that someone else just came up with the same title on their own and circulated it. So...Mystery Solved. Maybe? | User: StarSaber|
- I found this post on rec.arts.animation from 1994 which has that title in it... --abates (talk) 23:39, 28 July 2015 (EDT)
- Yep. That was my episode guide reposted by a "Charles M Kosior". I don't remember why I translated the other titles but not this one though. That IS the title on my Beta copy from the late 80s. However, if this is the list mentioned in the article, it most definitely is mine. My name's (Mike Bisbee)on it and everything.
