Tempo was one of the Titans created by the legendary Knights of Cybertron to act as a living ship. Tempo carried a crew of philosophers seeking new kinds of truth.

Millions of years ago, Tempo and the other 12 colony Titans departed Cybertron to found new outposts of Cybertronian civilization. First Contact Tempo was one of the first Titans to leave, but by all accounts neither he or his crew ever returned.

In the present-day, Elita One claimed that her people's Titan Carcer was Tempo; although Windblade quickly saw through the deception, she opted to keep the truth to herself for the time being. The Will of the Few

• Aside from the musical concept, Tempo is Italian for "time". Considering how some other Titans have a direct connection to members of the Thirteen, Tempo may be affiliated with Vector Prime.
