Seacon (Masterforce)

The Seacons are a Decepticon subgroup from the Masterforce portion of the Generation 1 continuity family.

The Seacons, save for their leader, Turtler, are a horde of mindless robotic drones. They serve Devil Z and Overlord.

The Seacons consist of:

• Turtler (leader)
• Lobclaw
• Overbite
• Kraken
• Gulf
• Tentakil

They can combine to form King Poseidon.

Fiction

Masterforce anime

The Seacons appeared here as a swarm rather than a team. The five smaller robots were each several 'clones' of the same body-type, only ever appearing in beast mode. Turtler, the only 'regular' Transformer amongst them could combine with any five distinct Seacons to form King Poseidon.

Toys

The Seacons were first released in the US and Japan in 1988. They have a lot of purple and bright blue on them.

Trivia

• Every previous Decepticon-aligned combiner team in Japan had had their group suffix changed from -con to -tron or -ron (ie, Terrorcon to Terrortron) in order to line up with "Destron", the Japanese faction name for the Decepticons. However, for some reason this suffix change did happen with the Masterforce release of the Seacons, making them the only Decepticon combiner team in Generation 1 to have the same group name in both countries.
