Fiction

IDW Generation 1 continuity

Millions of years ago, Tempo and the other 12 colony Titans departed Cybertron to found new outposts of Cybertronian civilization. First Contact Tempo was one of the first Titans to leave, but by all accounts neither he or his crew ever returned.

In the present-day, Tempo was one of the five colonies with which Metroplex established a space bridge link. Windblade vol. 2 #4 When Windblade met with the ship's captain, Elita One, however, she learned that the Titan was not named "Tempo", but rather "Carcer". Elita claimed the present crew had simply renamed Tempo, but Windblade knew that this was the name of another, separate Titan, and was secretly concerned with what Elita was hiding from her. Notes

  • Aside from the musical concept, Tempo is Italian for "time". Considering how some other Titans have a direct connection to members of the Thirteen, Tempo may be affiliated with Vector Prime. If this holds, considering that it was specifically noted the crew were philosophers - a discipline which could be described as asking questions about the universe - this could be a stealth pun referencing Ask Vector Prime.
