Not a robotic bird this time around.

Mnemosurgery is no easy job, some 'bots are not cut out for the task of browsing through memories of patients and analyzing them, such is the case with Sunder. A former practitioner of the field, nowadays he's more famously known for having embarked in numerous murders.

Fiction

IDW Generation 1 continuity

Sunder used to be a world-class mnemosurgeon, until his life took a drastic turn for the worse in a undisclosed moment of his life, going on massive killing sprees under his new name, The Tetrahex Ripper.

At some point, he was detained and sentenced to Garrus 6 for maximum security containment. Following his arrest, he developed a new skill: Remote Mnemosurgery, which allowed him to probe through his victim's mind without even touching them. He simultaneously acquired an "appetite" for memories obtained this way, the darker the better. During transport, he used his talent to make the guards forget to lock the doors, allowing him to escape. Reuniting with his brother Sceptre along the way, the two attempted to escape aboard a shuttle, taking Froid hostage to ensure their safety. The shuttle was brought down regardless, taking Sceptre's life. Following the death of his spark-brother, Sunder made a deal with Froid: if Froid helped him cope with Sceptre's death and kept him fed, Sunder would help Froid with his work.

During his time inside Froid's ship, he used art as a way to express himself. Being a big fan of the Guiding Hand, his art came in the form of "Mortilus" and "the death bringer" scrabbled in various dialects across the ship's walls.

Froid removed Sunder's eyes at some point to better control him and his appetite, having convinced him that he needed to see his patients before he could feed on them. Froid wore the eyeballs around his neck disguised as a pair of Primal Beads.

Later, Froid attempted to feed his rival Rung to Sunder. He was denied from feasting upon the psychiatrist thanks to the intervention of Skids, but Froid was able to return his eyes, allowing him to incapacitate Rung before gaining access into Skids' memories... Speak, Memory: Part 1
