Longrack (BW)
| The name or term "Longrack" refers to more than one character or idea. For a list of other meanings, see Longrack (disambiguation). |
- Longrack is a Maximal from the Beast Wars Neo portion of the Generation 1 continuity family.

The best way to describe Longrack (ロングラック Rongurakku) is that he's the kind of cadet who runs for Student Council President because he believes that the job really matters, darn it all. A stickler for rules and protocol, expect to see him issuing demerits to other Maximals while delivering "you'll thank me for this, someday" rhetoric. Longrack is talky, annoying, over-serious, and has a stick up his tailpipe as long as his beast mode's neck. The "Brainy Smurf" of Big Convoy's crew, Longrack means well, but that doesn't stop him from being a major tool, or getting into spats with the less-serious-minded among the crew. Everyone from Break to Cohrada to Mach Kick gives him a hard time and he just can't stand it.
But Big Convoy appointed him sub-commander for a reason and it's because he gets the job done. By giving his teammates an authority figure to uniformly despise or mock, he actually brings them together as a cohesive unit. In his spare time, he likes to tinker with machines and is something of an accomplished inventor, revealing a creative side that's typically hidden by his protocol-minded demeanor.

IDW Beast Wars comics

Longrack was part of Lio Convoy's elite special operations unit, the Pack. He traveled with them to prehistoric Earth to rescue Razorbeast and company. On the way there, Stampy's "bounding" exuberance, quite predictably, got on Longrack's nerves. Once their team landed in the middle of a battle with the Predacons, he used his long giraffe neck to take a bite out of Buzz Saw. The Ascending #2 Later, Longrack identified a creature running rampant and attacking other Maximals to be Razorbeast, reporting such to his commander, Lio Convoy. Once the Pack was brought up-to-date on the situation, both on Earth and Cybertron, Longrack was tasked with gathering as many Maximals as he could fit into the Pack's shuttle. The Ascending #3 Travelling back to their home planet to combat the threat there, Longrack wielded Stampy in his weapon configuration, and blasted away at Shokaract. He made it through the final battle between the herald of Unicron and the combined Maximal and Predacon forces relatively unscathed. The Ascending #4
Toys
Beast Wars Neo

- Longrack (Mega, 1999)
- ID number: C-29
- Accessories: Knife, 2 missiles
- Longrack transforms into a giraffe. His beast mode head has its tongue stuck out, and pushing it in makes the white pupils of his eyes disappear. Uh... yeah.
- Anyway, his robot mode is laden with gimmicks. His beast mode forelegs each hide a spring-loaded missile launcher, though getting them into a useful firing position is tricky. His giraffe neck becomes his right arm, which has a spring-loaded extending claw. This claw also features a 5mm-wide "clip", allowing him to hold other accessories (or his comrades Stampy and Break in their gun modes) with that arm. His left arm's gauntlet has a flip-out knife, which is removable, but due to the plastic tolerances is tricky to remove and replace. He also has a third "Arm Vehicle" mode that is best not talked about at all, though it does have the sole redeeming feature of putting his missile launchers into an actually useful firing position.

- Showdown in the Savannah: Longrack VS Guiledart (Vs pack, 1999)
- ID number: VS-29
- Accessories: Knife, 2 missiles
- Longrack was available both separately and in a vs-pack with the Predacon Guiledart. Both toys were identical to their individual releases.
Cybertron

- Longrack (Deluxe, 2005)
- Accessories: Cybertron Autobot Cyber Key
- For the Hasbro release of the toy, Longrack was put in an individual package. Longrack is a retool of Armada Hoist, transforming into a Cybertronic excavator. Plugging a Cyber Planet Key into his right arm unlocks his shovel-arm, which can punch forward by pressing in the plunger mechanism. He came with a silver-bordered Cybertron-Autobot style Cyber Planet Key. His Cyber Planet Key has the Cyber Key Code "d48m" tampographed on its back.
- This mold was used to make the BotCon 2006 Darksyde Dinobot. The original version of the mold was also used to make Universe (2003) Ransack.
Merchandise
Beast Wars Gum
- Longrack (candy toy, 1999)
- A snap together model kit of Longrack was available as part of Kabaya's Beast Wars Gum, sculpted entirely from yellow plastic. He could transform from robot to beast mode by being broken down into its component parts, then rebuilt into a new mode. It came with a stick of gum.
Notes
- In giraffe mode, Longrack's toy proudly displays his big red tongue. But as we all know, giraffes actually have black tongues.
- Transformers Vault erroneously calls him Longneck.
