Calvin Johnson Megatron was available with the purchase of Nike's CJ81 Megatron Trainer Max, inspired by American football player Calvin Johnson, who is nicknamed after the Decepticon leader. A redeco of his Generations Thrilling 30 Deluxe Class toy, Megatron transforms from robot to stealth bomber, with his wings detaching to form a fusion cannon in robot mode. He features Johnson's signature printed on his chest, and also includes an American football accessory redecoed from the one included with Red Dog in the 2011 G.I. Joe "Slaughter's Marauders Battle Set".

The Calvin Johnson Megatron figure was also available in the "Megatron Rising 3-Pack", which includes three pairs of Megatron-themed shoes: the Nike CJ81 Megatron Trainer Max, the Megatron Nike Air Trainer SC II, and the Nike CJ81 Megatron Elite TD Cleat, the last of which is exclusive to the pack. The pack was limited to 81 pieces, in reference to Johnson's shirt number, and available only from Nike's 21 Mercer Street store in New York City, select Nike Yardline stores, and Nike.com.

• This is an obvious reference to American football wide receiver Calvin Johnson for the Detroit Lions of the NFL, who is nicknamed Megatron. This nickname was given to him by former Lions wide receiver Roy Williams and subsequently caught on with fans.
