Backtrack really is a creepy little bugger. Along with Ransack, the two Cyclones delight in causing mischief as well as show disinterest in big, threatening bounty hunters and even other Mini-Cons.

He's probably with Overload.

Fiction

2015 Robots in Disguise shorts

Backtrack was with Overload and Ransack when the latter attacked a young Slipstream, stealing from him a ball bearing. The Tragedy of Slipstream

Backtrack was freed from his stasis pod when Fracture had his own Mini-Con companions tear it open. Upon emerging, Backtrack displayed little interest towards the Decepticons... but plenty towards the rocks strewn about nearby. Fracture tried to have Backtrack swear allegiance to him, only for Ransack to unexpectedly emerge from the pod. Both Cyclones then beat up Fracture (with Backtrack using his newly acquired rocks as handy projectiles) and then rolled away. Knock Knock Bumblebee and his team soon thereafter detected Backtrack and Ransack's signals. The Power of Dibs

Backtrack and Ransack resisted further attempts on Fracture's part to recruit them, knocking the Decepticon into unconsciousness before provoking Airazor and Divebomb into chasing them. Back and Forth

Available only with the large Deployer Overload, Backtrack transforms into a mechanical sphere in a single step. He features snap-on energon armor that he can wear in both robot and sphere modes. He is one of the few new Mini-Cons to have articulation in the form of his arms.

His robot mode does not have a way to lock into its fully extended robot mode, which can cause him to retract slightly when stood upright.

This version of Backtrack, dubbed "Blizzard Strike Backtrack", is an ice-themed redeco of the Mini-Con.
